Therapy Partners started in 2014. Today, Therapy Partners has five locations and over 20 employees. It is continually growing to help you with your needs. Our staff has been working in the physical therapy field since 1995, so we have many years of experience.

Two Locations in Maine

In Belfast, we are located on Spring Street, close to several area businesses and the town library. With our convenient second location close to downtown on Harlow Street in Bangor, Therapy Partners is able to meet more patients' needs and service patients from several surrounding towns. Both locations offer easy access and free parking.

What is Physical Therapy? It is a therapy for preserving, enhancing, or restoring movement and physical function. It also treats impairments or disabilities, utilizing therapeutic exercise, modalities, education, and training. Physical Therapists have over 6 years of schooling. Most hold a Doctorate. At Therapy Partners, we firmly believe in Manual Physical Therapy. Hands-on care is proven to help with rehabilitation. Here at Therapy Partners, it is an essential part of rehab for most of our patients with a wide variety of injuries.

Post-Operative Rehabilitation

Physical Therapy after an operation is vital to restore the motion of joints, muscle strength, and flexibility. We will work with your surgeon following the appropriate protocol for rehabilitation. Communication between our office and the physician will happen at the evaluation, with monthly progress reports, your final visit summary, and as needed throughout the course of your care.

TMJ Treatment

TMJ is a pain in the joint of your jawbone. The exact causes of TMJ discomfort are often difficult to determine. Your pain may be due to a combination of factors, like genetics, arthritis, or jaw injuries. Some people who have jaw pain also tend to clench or grind their teeth. Although many people who grind and clench never develop symptoms. In most cases, the pain is temporary and can be relieved with self-managed care. In other cases, physical therapy reduces pain, evaluates body mechanics, and provides instruction regarding stretching techniques is needed.

Dry Needling

Dry Needling is offered in our Belfast location only with Matt Economy, PT, MSPT, COMT. Matt was a member of the committee that brought dry needling to physical therapy in Maine. Dry needling is a safe, minimally-discomforting, and often effective technique for patients with certain musculoskeletal dysfunctions. Dry needling is a treatment performed by skilled, trained physical therapists certified in the procedure. This treatment uses a thin monofilament needle that penetrates the skin and treats underlying muscular trigger points to manage neuromusculoskeletal pain and movement impairments.
